When we got back to the house we hung out in the back yard for a while since Dan was still asleep. I heart hanging out in the back yard with them. It's relaxing to lay in the lounge chair listening to the birds sing.
I decided I better do my workout early today in case the heat got the best of me. I ended up doing the "Haven't had enough" workout -http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/07/20/havent-had-enough-workout/.
Another tough workout. I think taking 3 days off this week made it more difficult. I switched some of th workout up from what Zuzana did since I don't have a ugi ball.
Here's the breakdown:
Part 1-15 rounds of 10/50 second intervals
-Burpee pushup on ball (I used an 8lb medicine ball)
-Sandbag single leg dead lift (left leg)
-Sandbag single leg dead lift (right)
-Crisscross hip thrust
-Jump lunge and twist
Part 2: 300 ball squeeze for time.
Whoa, I don't know if it's because I worked out early today or I just was a little off from taking too much time off this week. I can't do the crisscross hip thrust to save my life. She does say it's advanced, but I feel like i should at least somewhat be able to do them, maybe just not many. I ended up balancing my hands on the 8 lb medicine ball. What a sissy. I asked Dan to see if he could do them, he barely could, which made me feel less like a sissy since he is really good at core workouts. I know my core needs a lot work but trying these with a yoga ball me feel like a total beginner. Maybe you can do them easily since you are a badass and have done p90x and are now doing Insanity. You should try it and let me know :-)
I used a yoga ball for the 2nd part. It's essentially a pulsing wide leg squat. KILLER. At 50 I was already thinking Zuzana was crazy. Dan came up as I was about to start Part 2. I would do 15-20 then have to stop and shake out my legs for a second. My knees felt like they were going to give out at 100. Dan kept saying "ride that fat pony!" i had to keep myself from laughing since that tends to make me lose momentum. I got through it in 6.08. I thought I had read that Zuzana did this in 4 minutes something but I just checked and it was 5 minutes and 54 seconds. I'm glad I double checked.
We are off to go to Sharon Nursery to see what we want to get for the front yard. We hate hated the ugly stuff the people before us planted out there since the day we moved in. We always talk about puling it all out but never do. We have let the front "yard" go this summer and now it's full of weeds and poison ivy. We are probably going to pull everything out (except for the bushes against the house) and start over. I so don't have a green thumb. Wish us luck!

look at you early bird. sometime i think getting up before steve is nice and peaceful. kudos for you trying your clean eating meal. sounds very gross. We've been putting the packets of 3 sisters in out shakes. and its pretty good that way. As for walking your dogs, they seem very well behaved which i assume is easier for you. The pictures you posted of them this morning were really cute. I really like the one of them both in the mini pool.
I totally agree with you on taking too many days off. It gets throws you off. I feel like I'm starting all over again. your workout sounds tough. I'm going to check it out really quick...ok just watched it. Ummm I not sure if i could do that move on a ball yet. maybe if i had one to try it on. that'll be on our shopping list. Start doing the pilates once you get it. that'll help with your core. I should follow this same advice ;)
Oh take before and after photos of your front yard. I should ship my mom up to you. She's got a great green thumb and great designing skills. I'm sure it'll look great =)
ugh i should proof read before i post ha
