Monday-Since Dan was home, I did one of his circuits. I was having a hard time deciphering what I wrote for the week prior when he did the workout, and after 4 rounds I realized I wasn't doing the entire first exercise the way he did. The workout is 22 minutes long, as many rounds as you can get.
1. Knee jumps>walk out to 5 pushup (4 single leg, 1 w/both legs) (X5) He was coaching me through the workout and it took 4 rounds for both of us to realize he had done this x5 vs. the single i was doing. Once i started doing 5 knee jumps and 25 pushups each round vs. 1 knee jump and 5 pushups, the intensity increased dramatically. Go figure.
2. 10 reverse pushups (on the dip station)
3. 10 dips (with arms on table)
4. 10 Kettle bell swings each arm
I have no idea how many rounds I did since we realized i was skimping on the first exercise. Regardless, I was about to throw up towards the last end. I had to stop for a second on a few of the KB swings in fear that if I didn't, there was going to be a mess to clean up.
Tuesday: Since the temp was relatively decent I decided to go for a run. I intended to do a short interval workout when I got back but didn't have it in me. It was 80% humidity, which took a toll on me. Instead of trying to run as long as I could without stopping, which Dan always encourages me to do, I decided to go for more of a sprint drill run in hopes to get a better time as well as burn more calories. I ran the first mile without stopping (which is normal) in 8.25 (a little less than my past few runs) and did sprints/walked for 15-20 seconds the rest of the way, getting a time of 20.25 for 2.29 miles. Not to shabby. I was pleased with my time.
Wednesday: Teenage Dream Workout (bodyrock.tv) (Time Challenge)
Part 1:
-slide under w/sandbag (10x5)
-sandbag situp (10x5)
-Rolling knee tuck & push up (on yoga ball) (5x5)
-Diagonal knee raises (on dip station) (10x5)
Part 2: max effort-4 minutes (5 sec/25 sec)
-high knees
-pendulum
My time was 15:08. Not sure how that compared to the others but I felt like I got a lot out of the workout. I really liked everything about this one. The high knees and pendulum were crazy hard after going through Part 1. I felt like i was going in slow motion after the first minute. Legs definitely felt like lead....now if they were only as solid as lead ;-)
Thursday: Took the day off since I couldn't resist going to Lululemon in Columbus to stock up on the free to be bra. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am that they started making them again. I got one in each color, then another bra I had never seen that has some sort of criss crossy back. There is next to no support in that one, but hey, I guess that's one advantage to having next to no boobs!
Friday: Just did the Fierce Friday workout (bodyrock.tv) that was posted last week. I took a vacation day today so I did my workout around 6pm vs. around 9pm. If only I could time my eating schedule to be able to do this everyday. This one was a time challenge-4 circuits of:
-jump squat touchdown (x20)
-skater (x15 each leg)
-reptile (KICKED MY ABS-hardy har) (x20)
-one leg hop kick (x20)
I need to work on my skaters. I don't have the balance yet to do them without touching my toe to the ground, but Zuzana said she has a hard time doing that as well so it makes me feel less out of shape. I felt like I would throw off my workout if I went super slow to get my balance and not touch so I decided to compromise and extended my leg out as far as i could to get more out of it. HOLY SHIT, I don't know what it was about the reptiles but I was having to do some serious self talk to not drop to the ground half way through the last circuit. It paid off because I made it all the way through. Now I'm STARVING. Here is a pic of my sweatiness. Apparently the lighting up here doesn't pick up the true level of sweating that's going on, nor does it show how reddish purple my face really is.
On a side note, I let Bella and Zoe hang out on the 3rd floor while I did my workout. They entertained themselves and were perfect angels. Bella only started to look like she was going to come over and get in my way once, but other than that they didn't step foot on the mats. Good girlies!
P.S. Dan is going to the gourge Saturday/Sunday with Tim to hike/camp. I'm not bad ass enough to go, so if the weather is as sunny as the forecast says, I will be soaking up some rays over the weekend. Too bad you aren't here to go to the pool with me. I'm not a fan of public pools but it's nice to go lay out at the one I go to sometimes. The chairs are comfy, it's big enough that you don't feel like people are too close, and there is a lil lazy river to float around if it gets too roasty toasty. I'll be partaking in this alone.

Oh my stars I can't believe my eyes. A new blog!! haha... I'm pretty stoked on your workouts this past week. If you're working out that hard to almost puke on your floor. That's an A+ in my book. I need to check out those last two workouts on bodyrock. Do you think in a years time we'll have a body like Zuzanna's? It'll probably take you less time miss 6 pack. Shit your picture makes me want to go on a hunger strike HA! Jen you look amazing. Like drooling hot. I'm jealous. I'm happy to hear your babies did well tonight. I must add that mine stayed out of my way too. buddy came up to my face when I was doing planks, but he rolled over wanting tummy rubs. So cute he is.
Ummm did Dan invite you? I think I'd be kind of (a lot) hurt by that. I wish we did live closer so we could go do things together. I would love to go hang out by the pool in comfy lounge chairs with you.
