I feel like a serious lazy ass not working out today or yesterday, but the nights have been too hectic. Having cramps from hell isn't helping the situation, then add in the heat....yeah, you get it.
So let me fill you in on this week.
Monday, rush out of work to drop my car off and VW to get the new tires and new starter. Picked up the stupid loaner that was so floaty it made me feel like I might be sea sick.
Tuesday-get a call from Caleb (service guy at VW) saying "hey Jen, uhh, yeah, when the mechanic went to put your new tire on he noticed the rear caliper is leaking a lot of fluid, like a lot...so you need a new caliper, which is covered under warrantee. You also need new rear brakes." K, so anytime I replace anything on my car, I'm not keen on just putting the 'ol factory crap back on, so of course then while I'm at work I have to call Dan to see if he can figure out if anyone in town has the brakes I want. Of course they didn't, so I ordered them from Tirerack, which luckily is only 1 state over so they got delivered to the house on Wednesday.
Wednesday-Yay, since the brakes came, I get to drive BACK out to VW to drop them off. Another day of rushing out of work at 3:30. Awesome. The days at work have been relatively annoying, mostly due to my co-lead being extremely moody because she has some sort of breast cancer that she will have removed the end of August. I'm not saying I would be a ray of sunshine, but jesus, don't take it out on everyone around you for weeks upon weeks. She asked me to proofread an email for her (she's from Russia and she tends to leave words out ) so as I'm proofreading and rewording some of it, she starts asking me if she made a lot of mistakes and what she forgot.....which keep in mind I had told her not 10 minutes ago that I am super short on time since I had to leave to do the car crap. When she wouldn't stop talking to me while I was proofreading her email, I finally said something along the lines of, please stop asking me questions if you want me to help you with this. I heard a chuckle from Michelle on the otehr side of my cube wall, so I must have sounded pretty irritated. THEN Nadya decides to send me an IM asking if there is anything she can do to help me get my stuff done for the day, my response, you can leave me alone and quit asking me questions. She then sat at her desk pouting then had to go have a cigarette. What a baby.
My period was really making me feel shitty so I decided if I wasn't working out, I would paint the trim in the bathroom that has needed painting for quite some time. I absolutely hate painting trim. Buying a historic home that has 6-9" baseboards, door and window trim in every room was a brilliant idea considering I'm the only one in the household that can paint worth a darn. On a funny note, I walked out of the room not thinking and walked back in to see Zoe had pressed her face against the wet paint to get her ball. That required an emergency bath. I wanted to get a pic but didn't want to risk the paint drying more. It was pretty funny.
Thursday (today)-Caleb calls to let me know that the car is almost done and will be good to go by 4. They also ended up ordering a new door latch because they finally got to experience the massive clicking it randomly does when the door is open. I also had video of it doing it earlier in the week as a backup :-) So I got to rush out of work AGAIN to drive to Florence AGAIN but I wasn't too upset about it because I was getting my car back today!! I even took towels with me because I planned to go wash it on my way home, but to my surprise, they had washed her for me :-) So i talk to the sales guy to see wha they are asking for the FJ Cruiser that is now sitting out front. Get in my car and was on my merry way....until I go to turn the radio on and it won't turn on. Nothing. Blank screen. By this point it's 6:05. They close at 6 but I was positive Caleb would still be there, which he was. I turned around and went back. I pulled straight to the back and the mechanic was not thrilled that I was back since he wasn't the one who worked on my car to begin with. He hooked the computer up and says "the radio isn't the only problem" GRRRRRR seriously. OVER IT!!! so patiently I ask what else is wrong. Wipers aren't working either. That ended up being easy, it was a fuse. hopefully the stereo is just a fuse as well, but go figure, it's the fuse that is in the back of the head unit which requires taking the dash apart. JESUS CHRIST! So now i'm irritated because i'm convinced that taking my dash apart is going to create some sort of new rattle, which i can't stand. Seriously, it's so annoying that they don't hook the cars up to the computer if they have had to do much of anything to make sure everything is reading correctly. But no. Apparently attention to detail is harder to come by than I thought it was. So I had a choice to keep my car and take it back tomorrow (which requires rushing out of work again-oh, AND i have to reschedule my haircut AGAIN) or I could drive the boat again. I opted for my car, considering either way it means i have to go back to VW tomorrow. How annoying. So yeah, it's 11:07pm and I still need to finish my salad and take zoe on a short walk. then i can go to bed and be done with today. I'm so OCD about my car, I spent an at least 30 minutes of my night using goo gone on the inside part of my wheels where there was sticky crap from the old weights. That was only one wheel. I have to do the others over the weekend.
On a positive note, I really like the ride of my new tires. So much quieter and bumps aren't so unbearable. It's nice to have gription again.
Part of me wants to call into work tomorrow but I can't remember how many sick days I have used this year. We used to get unlimited and if someone abused the system, then they got a talkin to. Now we have 5 per year. Calling into work would make the day so much less annoying but I should really be there, and since I need to leave at 3:30 again so I can go sit at VW while they fix my car for the guhzillionth time, I need to be at work by 7am. Horseshit!
Good work on your workouts. I didn't have time to comment on them and vent about my week so far. Thanks for "listening".
