Since I got out of work early yesterday (for the company picnic that I didn't attend), I ended up spending 2 hours of my day at the pool. So relaxing, aside from the highschool toolshed that kept singing the terrible country music super loud. After that I went to a few bike shops to get sized and see what my options are going to be for road bikes that are in the $700-800 range. I just ordered new summer tires for my car which was a little over $700 so I probably shouldn't be putting a bike on the 'ol credit card but I really want to get in longer rides this summer and can't handle the mountain bike that isn't even my size for over 10 miles. I don't know if my body is just getting old and achey or if it would have always had this effect on me. I'm pretty excited though about the thought of a bike that actually fits me!
The Grab your Balls (bodyrock.tv) workout was posted last week and I have been excited to give it a go ever since. I wish I had the Ugi ball that Zuzana now incorporates into her workouts but it's retarded expensive and I have plenty of stuff I can use to substitute for the workout. I used an 8 lb medicine ball for most of it. Here's the breakdown:
18 minutes of 10/50 second intervals (max reps)
1. Wood chop (left)
2. Wood chop (right)
3. Burpees w/ball
4. Sprint lunges (I used the yoga ball since I needed more height)
5. Ball Climbers
6. Toss and Catch ball (used the yoga ball so I didn't chance dropping an 8lb hard medicine ball on my face)
The workout was MUCH harder than it looked. The burn felt awesome. I rested for a minute then did some more abs exercises. I'm determined to get my bottom 2 abs visible. They have never come out of hiding so they better embrace it because it's going to happen soon ;)
